Children's Technology Workshop Franchise:
The
after-school children’s enrichment market is one of the
hottest areas of interest and growth in education today.
CTWorkshop (www.ctworkshop.com), founded in 1997, has grown
to 43 locations around the world since it began franchising
in 2004. The curriculum gives children an opportunity to
explore, invent and create doing engineering and science,
robotics, animation, video game creation, video production
and chroma key special effects, digital art and digital
story telling. The program is offered through summer and
seasonal day camps, after-school Workshop Clubs, in-school
Academic supplementary education, and birthday parties and
special events. In the summer of 2006, CTWorkshop camps,
called icamp™, (the “i” stands for individualized) ran in 75
locations around the globe.
Industry Opportunity:
A
year-round business that can start off as home administered,
CTWorkshop is appropriate for children aged 4-14 (pre-K to Grade 8).
At icamp children choose from a range of adventures that include an
expedition to Egypt to discover a Pharaoh’s treasure, or a mission
to Mars to rescue trapped astronauts, to name two of the 10
different choices for creating stories, set designs, robots, and
much more. Each adventure has as many as 30 different projects to
choose from so a child can come back and do the same adventure many
times, or a different adventure each week.
We
have three different types of territories. In North America
our metropolitan territories are built using zip codes in
urban environments. These territories encompass areas with
up to 600,000 people, 100s of schools, day care facilities,
houses of worship and other places where children gather. We
also have introduced a small market model for more rural
settings and small cities with populations of between
100,000 and 300, 000. Our international territories
encompass populations of 1.5 million. In any of these
territories we encourage our franchisees to offer the entire
curriculum and create multiple camp locations to build a
financially rewarding year-round business.
